Precision 7760 stuck in rebooting loop
Incase a Precision 7760 gets stuck in a rebooting loop stating 'Driver Unloaded Without Cancelling Pending Operations' it may have a corrupt NVIDIA graphics driver causing the issue. Try these steps to troubleshoot.
Step 1.
- Boot the affected laptop in Safe Mode
- Launch File Explorer and follow this path -> C:\Windows\System32\drivers
- Locate the nvpcf.sys file, right-click and rename
- Change name to nvpcf.sys.old
- Then Close File Explorer
Step 2.
- Next, Go to Control Panel and search for Device Manager
- Find 'Software Devices' and Uninstall NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework
Step 3.
- Then, go to the Dell Product Support website and find the latest NVIDIA Graphics Drivers for the Precision 7760 and download them. You can type in the Service Tag on the Dell Product Support page and you will then be shown all drivers for the laptop. The Service Tag is found on the bottom of the laptop.
- Once the latest NVIDIA graphics drivers have been downloaded, restart the machine and check if it boots up normally.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, you can also try only Step 2, uninstalling the NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework driver and then reboot. Boot up in Safe Mode to uninstall the driver.
