VPN Xfinity troubleshooting
Some WFH users who use Xfinity for their home internet have reported issues connecting to the VPN, this can potentially be linked to an IP address conflict. To troubleshoot, have the user open up their Xfinity app. May require a phone call for troubleshooting.
- Open Xfinity App
- Navigate to Wifi tab
- Click on "View Wifi Equipment"
- Click on "Advanced Settings" for the gateway/modem/router
- "LAN" Section
- Click "edit"
- Change local IP to 192.168.0.1 as opposed to the default 10.0.0.1
*Since the VPN CBA uses is "older" the local IP's need to be set to a traditional protocol
Example: 192.168.X.X
**Recommend restarting the home router as well after this change is made
